Aftercare guide
After a filling
Tooth-coloured fillings are set before you leave, so you can eat once the numbness wears off.

Choose "Save as PDF" in the print window.
Do
- Wait until the numbness has gone before eating or hot drinks
- Brush and floss as normal
- Use over-the-counter pain relief if needed, following the pack instructions
Don't
- Chewing while numb — it's easy to bite your cheek or lip
- Very hard foods on the new filling for the first day
What's normal
- Sensitivity to hot, cold or biting for a few days
- A slightly different feel to the tooth
When to call us
- Your bite feels high or uneven after a day
- Pain that gets worse instead of better
